Answers:

1. Why the name "mydoghouse?"Selecting a domain name that has not already been taken is a difficult task. When we are asked why "mydoghouse?" Here is my usual response.

a. Since a website is a "home" (in computer talk) -- why not "doghouse?"
b. The name has 3 easy to pronounce and easy to remember syllables -- thus easy to tell others about.
c. It seems like the "doghouse" is where I stay most of most of the time when it comes to computers. Thus the name... "mydoghouse.".

We have had a lot of fun with the name and figure that it is as good a name as any. (You got to call it something!)

2. Is there software you mail to me or download to get started? Yes, you can now download our wizard and use it to set up your internet browser and outlook express. Once we receive payment from you, we will email you your new username, password and the local number you identified and your new email id. If you need us to snail mail you a floppy disc we can do that for an add on fee to cover the cost of the disc and postage. You will be billed an additional $5.

You can also download the "Easy Dialer" which makes internet connection easy but does not set up your email. For details and the download go to this page on our site. (EASYDIALER). Once we verify your payment we will send you the necessary password and info to make the access connection using easydialer. It is not hard to do this at all.

We also have put together a "links page" that gives you a wide selection of "how to" info for many internet tools. We give detailed instructions on how to set up your browsers, ftp, outlook express, etc. We have been where you are and know the kind of info you need to get started. We try to make is as easy as possible.

We can even "talk you thru the set up" if necessary. Just call us at 573-748-2179 and we will be glad to work with you getting you computer set up.

3. How do I make payments? We are currently using PayPal (which is a very common way to send payments over the internet using mastercard, visa or debit cards.) It is one of the leading tools in this field and was recently purchased by ebay. It does not cost you any money to send via PayPal. We however have to pay a fee to use this service. For more info click here.

4. What if I need to pay by check? If you cannot for some reason use the Visa or Mastercard option of payment you can send us a check. Just send us an email and we will let you know where to send the check and additional information that you will need to send us to set up your new account.

5. How do I know what my local access number and net work is? You can use our Find access number search tool to find the city or town nearest you that has one of our networks. Go HERE.  Just put in your state or area code and let the tool look up the Realm, Network and local access numbers available to you.

Once you have located the city nearest you write down the access number(s) and network(s) available. We recommend that you call the number without dialing the area code and see if you hear the buzzing, static noise (like a fax machine). If so, that is the computer. If it is not a local call the operator will let you know. Don't let the prefix scare you. Often our network numbers have a different prefix than your local numbers. But it may still be local. It does not cost you to verify the number - just dial it and see.

6. What is a personal webspace? Does it have anything to do with e-mail or a homepage? This is where you can build your own home page. Using it for home or personal use and not business. Where you post photos of the kids, recipes, hobbies, etc. You can build the home page using software programs such as FrontPage. Some people like to play with this others have no interest in it at all. If you decide later that you would like to try your hand at this you can always add the personal website at a later date for the same add on fee when you make another payment.
