Set your ftpshell Client

To download the free FTP (freeware for the home version) to your computer -- 

 

go to http://www.tucows.com/preview/260364.html

 

It is called FTPshell client 3.1 located at tucows.com

 

ONCE YOU HAVE THE FTP ON YOUR COMPUTER... YOU NEED TO INSERT THE FOLLOWING AS SHOWN ON THE PIC BELOW. (CIRCLED IN RED)

INSERT YOUR ADDRESS, LOGIN, AND PASSWORD AS SHOWN. (ALSO A NAME SUCH AS "mydomain"

 

NOTE: AFTER YOU ADD THE ADDRESS, LOGIN AND PASSWORD -- you need to save them:

HERE IS  HOW YOU DO THAT:  Go to   "Favorites" - click add to favorites, Next go to "Tools" and click "session options" There you will see the set up. Click "save

Next time you open it you can go to Favorites and click on "mydomain" (see above) and your set up will be open.

 

TO DOWNLOAD FILES FROM OUR SERVER TO YOUR COMPUTER:

Open the ftp Click, open the public_html folder (IN THE MIDDLE BAR AREA) and  highlight all the files then click, in the folder at the bottom (on your computer) find the folder you want to put these files in and highlight it,  Now go back up to the folder on the server where you highlighted all the files and (1) click  "download" in the menu. Now (2) click Start Queue (at the top)

 

To upload from your computer to the server just open and click a file in your folder (see at bottom), highlight the files to be sent, and (1) click "upload"  Then  (2) "Start the Queue" on main tool bar at top.

THIS IS WHAT YOUR NEW FTP SHOULD LOOK LIKE.  REMEMBER TO ALWAYS CLICK THE 'START QUEUE" BUTTON TO MAKE IT WORK.
