Answers:

1. Why does my internet disconnect sometimes? It is most likely that your internet browser has a time limit option that is set low. Most networks disconnect when your are idle for 15 min. You may not think your are idle since you are spending time on one page reading or playing a game etc. but your browser assumes that you're not active. It then disconnects after the time limit occurs.

2. How do I fix this problem? If you use Internet Explorer, open it and click on TOOLS, then INTERNET OPTIONS, then CONNECTIONS, then SETTINGS (button on right side), then ADVANCED (button on lower right side). Here you will see a check box that says: "Disconnect if idle for _____ minutes." (10 Min is the usual amount of time.) Change that setting to a higher number as needed (20 -25 minutes should work  or you could up that to 45 or more later if needed.) NEXT Open Outlook Express, Click TOOLS, OPTIONS, GENERAL and under the heading "Send / Receive Messages" check the box that says "check for new messages every... [        ] minutes" and change that setting to every "5" minutes. This will refresh your system and the network will not think your are not using it while you are reading or writing emails.

In addition to the above You can download a free program that helps to keep your connection open. Go to C/net download.com at this link: http://download.com.com/3120-20-0.html?qt=keep+connection+alive&tg=dl-2001&search=+Go%21
I have used one called 42 Always Connected Plug (AC-Plug) 1.02
Stay connected to your ISP. OS: Windows (all) File Size: 230K License: Free

3. My easydialer does not stay on the desk top when I turn off/ on my computer. That should not happen but in the case it does simply go to your desktop and right click. Go to NEW and then to SHORTCUT. Browse until you locate the file on your C drive where you downloaded easydialer. Open that file and click on easydialer and complete your instructions. That should put a shortcut on your desktop.

4. How do I get the easydialer to work? Click on the icon on the desktop and that should open the tool. If it is already working RIGHT click on the icon down in the tool bar at the bottom of the page. Click "SHOW EASY DIALER" and the dialer should pop up. It is really simple to use. You can connect or disconnect by right clicking the icon in the tool bar. If you click Exit it should disconnect.

5. PayPal may require cookies be enabled: How do I do that? To reset cookies open your browser: INTERNET EXPLORER. The "help" message when you ask for help to enable cookies tells you to click on TOOLS, then INTERNET OPTIONS, then PRIVACY. It is there that you make a change in the setting. Slide down to LOW or ACCEPT ALL COOKIES. I think low would be best because it blocks third party cookies. You can go back later and change all this back if you wish. If you use NETSCAPE the help topic says to open EDIT then PREFERENCES then PRIVACY/SECURITY. You may have to expand the menu. Then click on COOKIES. It is her that you have a choice to enable cookies. You might choose to "enable cookies for the originating website only." This eliminates 3rd party cookies.

6. How do I set my home page to something like Yahoo, etc.? Open Internet Explorer, Click TOOLS, INTERNET OPTIONS, GENERAL. The first blank is where you put whatever link you wish the explorer to link to when you click the "house" icon in the tool bar or open internet explorer from your desktop. The Easy Dialer will open to our welcome page by default and you can click the "house" icon to go to whatever home you have linked to.

7. How do I set up my outlook express to get my email? Go to the tutorial "Help with Outlook Express" on the links page.

8. My outlook express email disconnects while I am reading my email what do I do?
Open Outlook Express, Click TOOLS, OPTIONS, GENERAL and under the heading "Send / Receive Messages" check the box that says "check for new messages every... [        ] minutes" and change that setting to every "5" minutes. This will refresh your system and the network will not think your are not using it while you are reading or writing emails.

9. My outlook express disconnects when I send or receive an email what do I do?
Open Outlook Express, Click TOOLS, OPTIONS, CONNECTIONS and uncheck the box that says "Hang up after sending and receiving."

10. When I go from Internet Explorer to my Outlook Express - I get booted off... why? You most likely have a setting in Outlook Express that needs to be changed. I would suggest that you first open Outlook Express and then FILE. There if you see a check mark beside "work offline" unclick that checkmark. If Outlook Express is on "work off line" and you go from IE to it - it will put you "off line." That is why it disconnects. Try changing that to see if it helps.

11. I signed up for 200 hours a month, what happens when I run out of hours? Will I be charged extra? No you will not be charged extra. Some networks charge as much as $2 per hour when you run over. We do not do that. You are disconnected at 200 hours. If you are using that much time you should get a 2nd account for 200 more hours. If you find you do run out of time - just call us and we will set another account which will be placed on your next month's bill. Our prices for a 2nd account is much cheaper than paying the $2 per hour charge that some servers charge. For example see our prices for Qwest family plan B accounts here which provide a second account.

12. I get kicked off the internet whenever someone calls, what should I do? Do you have call-waiting?  If so,  check with your local telephone company to determine what numbers you need to enter, when dialing a number in order to disable it. Then put that number in your dialup settings for your modem. Go to: "CONTROL PANEL" then to "PHONE AND MODEM OPTIONS" then under "DIALING RULES" click "EDIT" and there under "GENERAL" look at the bottom of that page and you will see where you can "check mark" "TO DISABLE CALL WAITING" then put your number you got from the telephone company in the box. If you cannot reach the phone company you might experiment with the default numbers built into your program if they are available. Try one of these numbers if you cannot reach the phone company: *70  70#  1170

13. I used the wizard to set up my account and now my "search" on internet explorer does not seem to work. Can I reset that? Yes. Click on search. It will bring up our welcome page in the back ground. Go to the top where it says "customize" and click that. Then just make a choice. For example you can choose to use Yahoo as your search. Click that and wait a few seconds and the search will change.

14. How can I get rid of those annoying pop-up windows? Are those pop-ups coming from IE, or through the Windows Messenger service?  The easiest way to tell is that IE pop-ups usually have some “chrome”, like a title bar with the IE icon, the status bar at the bottom, etc.  It will also show up in the task tray with the little white icon with a blue e on it.  These pop-ups usually will also have some color to them, like a web page, only smaller. The Windows Messenger type will look more like an “error message” in the sense that it’s all gray and doesn’t have the chrome.  It also won’t show with the IE icon anyplace. The IE pop-ups are going to come up depending on what websites you go to.  They come through the regular web port 80.  You can stop them by getting a pop-up blocker.  There is one included with our new version of FastNet web accelerator The other type is coming in through a small security exploit in Windows Messenger.  The only way to stop those is to go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Administrative tools > Services.  Find Messenger in the list, double click.  Choose Startup Type as Disabled, and press Stop.  That should kill those types of pop-ups.

Also, The later versions of Internet Explorer have a pop up blocker feature: Open Internet Explorer, go to TOOLS, INTERNET OPTIONS, PRIVACY and there you will see a check box for blocking pop ups. (see below) If you do not have this feature please upgrade your internet explorer with Microsoft. It is a free download.

15. How can I set up Outlook Express for multiple users or identities to keep individual users' e-mail separate and easier to manage?

This is what "help" with Outlook Express says to do. It is a little challenging but I'm sure you can work thru it. Your existing identity is probably called your "main identity" You can use the "Help" on Outlook express for more tips:. Manage multiple e-mail and newsgroup accounts If you have several e-mail or newsgroup accounts, you can work with all of them within one window. You can also create multiple users, or identities, for the same computer. Each identity has unique e-mail folders and an individual Address Book. Multiple identities make it easy for you to keep work e-mail separate from personal e-mail, and also to keep individual users' e-mail separated. To add a new identity On the File menu, point to Identities, and then click Add New Identity. Type the name of the new user.
If you want to include a password for this identity, select the Require a password option, and then enter a password. Outlook Express asks you if you want to log on as the new user. If you answer yes, you will be prompted for information about your Internet connection. If you answer no, the current user remains logged on.  To delete an identity On the File menu, point to Identities, and then click Manage Identities. Select a user, and then click Remove. You cannot delete the current identity. When you delete an identity, the corresponding settings are deleted, but thedata are not deleted. To switch to a different identity On the File menu, click Switch Identity. Select the user you want to switch to.
To change the current identity's settings On the File menu, point to Identities, and then click Manage Identities. Change any of the settings. To change your identity name or password, select your identity name, and then click Properties. To change the identity that opens on startup, select an identity from the drop-down list. (If the check box is cleared, you will be prompted for the identity you want each time you open an identity-aware program.) To change the identity that you want all programs (identity-aware or not) to use when performing automatic processes, select an identity from the bottom
drop-down list.

16. I want to remove FastNet web acceleration program... how do I do that? Under the Windows Control Panel, select "Add or Remove Programs". Select SlipStream Web Accelerator and click Remove.
